Totall non-practical, but I love mine to bits!

The DX1 is huge. Think of a Prophet 10 and you'll get an idea of the size of it. It's also the heaviest piece of gear that I've ever owned - so heavy that it takes two people to move it!.

In terms of class and uniqueness i'd give it full marks. It has a poly aftertouch wooden weighted keyboard (sadly it does not transmit poly aftertouch :-( and it bristles with LED's showing you the values of all the parameters for the currently selected operator).

If you want the sound of a DX1, the DX5 will give you all the same sound features for a steal, and it will also prevent you from getting a hernia!
